Action Required: Don’t Lose Your Account

In order to ensure financial security and freedom, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has put in place various procedures to further strengthen and protect customers.

One of these procedures is the mandated KYC (Know Your Customer) update procedure which requires the verification of customer’s BVN (Bank Verification Number) and NIN (National Identification Numbers) for all financial accounts, including those held with Paga. It’s crucial to understand the importance of this initiative and take necessary steps to ensure your financial information remains secure.

This directive, effective immediately, requires all customer accounts to revalidate BVN and NIN by 1st of March, 2024. This applies to existing accounts as well as newly opened ones. Failure to revalidate your BVN and NIN may result in the restriction or closure of your Paga account.

Why You Should Comply

The revalidation of BVN and NIN is a proactive measure to help prevent identity theft, fraud, and money laundering. It will ensure that all customer accounts are linked to valid customer biometrics. Your compliance contributes to the overall stability and security of your account and Nigeria’s financial ecosystem at large.

Follow these steps to revalidate:

  • Login to your Paga App.
  • Click on the Revalidation pop-up.
  • Follow the instructions and fill in necessary information.
  • Your account is now safe.
